Attorney’s Office website.  Clinton County 
is one of 62 Counties in New York State.                              
Clinton County is in the most northeastern
part of the state.  The County seat is located
Plattsburgh.  The northern border of the
County is adjacent to Canada while the
Eastern border is along the shoreline of Lake
Champlain.  Interstate 87 runs in a north – south
direction through the County and it is the
common thoroughfare between Montreal, Quebec
and New York City.

The District Attorney’s Office prosecutes all misdemeanor and felony level cases in 13 Town and Village Courts as well as Plattsburgh City Court. All felony level cases are prosecuted and disposed of in County Court.   The office has five full time Assistant District Attorneys on staff.

As of September 1, 2006, the office plea bargains all Uniform Traffic Ticket violations and certain misdemeanor tickets issued by the New York State Police and Clinton County Sheriff’s Department.  The necessary reduction request forms can be downloaded from this website at the Traffic Ticket Reduction Information link.
