The Clinton County Sheriff's Office participates in the D.A.R.E. program to educate students attending kindergarten through 12th grade in county school districts about the dangers of illegal drug use and addiction. The program includes classes which Deputies conduct and concludes with a graduation ceremony.
Jr. Deputy McClatchie had an amazing experience as a Sheriff's Deputy for a day! Lucas won entry into the county wide drawing to be a Sheriff's Deputy for a day by winning the DARE Essay Contest for his 5th grade class at the Cumberland Head Elementary School. Deputy McClatchie had a busy morning investigating a traffic accident, taking a Humvee ride, and going on a behind the scenes tour of the Plattsburgh International Airport. After lunch, he assisted the Sheriff’s Marine Patrol with a paddle boarder in distress and then assisted patrols in locating an elderly male with dementia that was lost in the woods!
Great job, Junior Deputy McClatchie!!
