Central Stores / Central Mailing

The Clinton County Central Stores Department is a central supply division maintained under the jurisdiction of the County Purchasing Agent. Commonly used office supplies, printing supplies, and janitorial supplies are housed for distribution to all County departments and not-for-profit agencies within the County of Clinton. Items are put out to bid at the end of each year for the upcoming year thus allowing the County to purchase in bulk, providing the best pricing available. The Central Stores Department is linked to the County’s computerized financial operating system allowing for accurate, up to date accounting for County departments. Not-for-profit agencies utilizing the department are invoiced monthly for items purchased throughout the month. A ten percent surcharge is added to these bills to aid in recouping the cost of operations.

A print shop is housed in the Central Stores Department. A variety of printing/duplicating services (including color copying) are available to all County departments and not-for-profit agencies.  

Central Stores also provides a variety of mailing services for County departments. These include first-class mail, pre-sort mail, certified mail, registered mail, and priority mail. United Parcel Service also picks up packages daily.

A messenger service is also provided for County departments not located in the Government Center. A courier makes several trips daily delivering and picking up outgoing mail, interoffice mail and delivering supply/printing orders.
