School Safety and School Resource Officers

Clinton County Sheriff's Office

The Clinton County Sheriff's Office participated in the D.A.R.E. program to educate students attending kindergarten through 12th grade in county school districts about the dangers of illegal drug use and addiction. The program includes classes which Deputies conduct and concludes with a graduation ceremony. Due to covid and the current staffing crisis, D.A.R.E. has been under a current pause. This year we have brought back Deputy Hilliker in her most famous role. Deputy Hilliker will be working as our School Liaison Officer. She will be working and spending time in the various schools in the county, helping reconnect our kids with law enforcement. We are pleased to have her back.

We currently have School Resource Officers (S.R.O.) in four of the school districts in the county. We also provide spot check walk throughs and respond to emergencies and complaints in all other school districts.
