How do I get a copy of a deed, mortgage, satisfaction, judgment or lien?

Go to the search room in the County Clerk’s office where County Clerk personnel will assist you. Copies are 65 cents per page, $1.30 minimum.

How do I obtain a certified copy of one of these documents?

County Clerk personnel will make a copy of the document for a fee of $1.25 per page, $5.00 minimum.

How do I find out the price someone paid for a property?

By viewing the deed, you can locate the Transfer Tax and use the following formula:

bulletPurchases before 5/82 – Transfer Tax divided by 1.10 times 1000.
bulletPurchases after 5/82 – Transfer Tax divided by 4.00 times 1000.

How do I obtain a sub-division or survey map?

Go to the search room where county personnel will make copies of maps for you at a charge of $5.00 for each map.

Does Clinton County require a Recording or Cover Page?

Yes, all recorded documents in Clinton County require a Recording Page, which is generated in house.  Include this Recording Page fee of $10.00 when calculating fees due this office.
